Our founder, Jessica Davis, has always had "salvaging" in her blood - her “Little Grandpa” even once built a cottage by the lake using shipping crates he deconstructed from his work at Consolidated Freightways. After entering the building world as an AmeriCorps volunteer at Habitat for Humanity and developing the Women Build & Home Builders Blitz programs in Cleveland, Jessica founded her own design and fabrication business, Davis Industrial Services, in 2012. Through Davis Industrial Services, Jessica created opportunities to use the salvaged material in commercial interiors while collaborating with local artisans and saw the need for a marketplace for both buying and selling salvaged construction material. Thus, the vision for RBX was born!
Jessica has built homes with Habitat for Humanity in Guyana, Botswana, Nepal, and Costa Rica, and has had the pleasure of living and working with the most “gente simpatico” in Yumbel, Chile. Jessica was a Bad Girl Venture Finalist in 2015 and was recently honored as a 2016 German Marshall Memorial Fellow. Jessica loves to spend time with her "adoptive daughter" Cora and ‘spiritual accomplice’ Jenniffer when they are in town, and currently, lives in Tremont with her silver-fox boyfriend Ron. They like to sail; he’s a Tartan 10 National Champion and she’s a pirate!
